Our Purpose: To build the Body of Christ by growing mature disciples through: Prayer, Worship, Evangelism, Fellowship, Study, and Christian Service.

Evangelism

How far are we willing to walk to help someone in need?  Are we willing to Just Walk Across the Room (a book by Bill Hybels)?  Are we willing to step out our "comfort zone" to do something contrary to what we typically do?  Bill Hybels says, "When we choose to live by faith instead of by sight, taking these walks, extending ourselves, and exhibiting care to people who need to be enfolded in community," we are living our lives as Jesus taught us to live.  Jesus wants us to take every opportunity He gives us to lead others or point others to Him.  Romans 5:8 says, "But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners, Christ died for us."  Jesus "crossed an entire universe to help us."  How far are we willing to go to spread the good news?

At Tabernacle, Evangelism uses various methods to tell others about Jesus so that we lead them into a more personal  relationship with God.  Some of the ways Tabernacle does this:
  • Roadside church sign messages
  • Two mailouts a year to the surrounding communities
  • Four Community Breakfasts
  • Help other Methodist Churches get started from organization to building
  • Various studies such as ALPHA
  • Media spots
  • Faith stories of others
