Our Purpose: To build the Body of Christ by growing mature disciples through: Prayer, Worship, Evangelism, Fellowship, Study, and Christian Service.
Healing ServicesDo you often ask for God’s healing powers to touch someone’s body, mind, spirit or relationships? Do you experience or long to experience the power of a group of people praying together?
If you answered yes to either of those questions, Tabernacle’s monthly Healing Services may be for you. We meet on the third Sunday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the church Sanctuary. You can come to receive prayer or you can stand in for a family member or loved one in need of prayer. You are also invited to join in praying for others.
The Gospels tell us that Jesus came “teaching, preaching and healing.” Jesus tells us, “What I do, you will do and greater.” So we gather in obedience. The service is simple. We open with an explanation of how the service is structured, worshipful music, a brief teaching from scripture and an invitation to come and receive prayer. We ask how we can pray for a person. It may be for physical healing, emotional healing, relational healing, financial needs or whatever is on the individual’s heart. The prayer could be for the individual or a loved one. All are invited to join in a praying circle around the person requesting prayer. That person is anointed with oil, and we place our hands on their shoulders. This is the idea of ‘laying on of hands’ as the Bible teaches. Our prayers are brief, earnest prayers offered in faith.
Join us in the Sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. for worship and prayer. Let us discover what the Lord will do in our lives and others through prayer.

Healing can happen in Different Ways
Luke 22:47-51. Instantaneous Healing (The Miraculous): Jesus touches the ear of the High Priest's servant which had been cut off by Peter, and it is instantly healed.
Luke 17:11-14. Healing Is Released Over a Period of Time: Lepers are healed 'as they went on their way'. This healing is often an ongoing process and not immediate. (1 Corinthians 12--Gifts of Healing as distinct to Miracles).
Mark 8:22-25. Prayer Is Offered More Than Once: Jesus has to pray for a blind man twice before complete healing is accomplished. Sometimes we have to pray again, and again, and again to see healing eventually come to fruition and manifestation
Anointing with Oil comes from James 5:13-16: Are any among you suffering? They should pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing songs of praise. Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.
