EASTLAND - Date Posted: 08/23/2007 |

EASTLAND
Oh, Eastland how I have waited for you, As I have suffered to see what you will do. My Spirit I have shown from times of the morning dew, For my gifts are received by only a few.
Oh, Eastland, in what directions will you go! How will you show my people what I know? My commandments are placed for all to see, How will you bring my Kingdom to be?
Oh, Eastland, little did you know I had planted a seed with you long ago, To bring others to a place of Joy and peace, To revive your communities at the very least.
Oh, Eastland, you know what it is that I need, Bring my Kingdom up from that seed. Let your spirit move to one and all, Even beyond your protected walls.
Oh, Eastland, you are one that I love, Let your spirit go and be guided from above. And don't be afraid or faint of heart, For I have been with you from the very start.
Now, Eastland, this is what I say, Your life depended on me from your first day. Water my seed and watch it grow, I will harvest the plants which began to glow.
So be glad and keep me in your heart, I have watched and loved you from the start. As my people pass you by, This is how I see you through my eye.

A letter from Omar
When I sense a friend is really seeking truth, Ill take a risk and give him a Bible to read. Most of the people I know have never heard the Gospel, so they are often leery. All they have heard is negative about this Western faith that actually has its roots here in the Middle East. When I ask them to read John 14:6, they are surprised. There is a Muslim prayer that says, Show me the way, the truth and the life. When they read that Jesus is the way, their eyes are often opened. I usually meet with people one-on-one. If I have a group study, well meet quietly in a backroom or sometimes in the middle of the night. I must leave the country to receive my training. The Bible League has taught me how to reach people, and theyve provided the Bibles I need in the language of my people. Please pray with me that more of my people will soon find the truth in Gods Word.
Omar
If you would like to help spread the Gospel in the Middle East, the Bible League could use you help. For $5.00 each you can provide a Bible to someone in the Muslim world in their language and change their life. Just make a check out to The Bible League for any amount and send to Evangelism, 7310-A old Plank road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407

Evangelism To respond to the Gospel to "Go and make Disciples of Jesus Christ." To develop programs to proclaim the good news to those outside the Church, it invite persons to faith in Christ and to receive them into Christian Fellowship. To develop programs to aid the Spiritual growth of those new persons to the Church and to aid in developing a relationship with Christ to those already attending. Below are the ways Tabernacle is responding to this Great Commission: -
Gift of Life - This project consists of providing Bibles to overseas locations and within Spotsylvania County. Last year we were able to raise funds for a shipment of thirty-three Bibles to China. This year we have request for Bibles within out communities as well. Give the gift of life and receive the joy from giving.
-
Prayer in the Workplace - This project consists of identifying local business and implementing a plan for employees and customers to forward their prayers to a group who will pray for each request. A prayer box is placed in a business and prayer slips are collected once a week. Local businesses are currently participating in this project and others are considering being partners with Tabernacle.
-
Sharing the Spirit - Sharing the Spirit is a program designed to help others to strengthen their relationship with Christ. Designed to give to those who are unable to partake of communion and visit with those who are sick and needy.
-
The Walk for Life - This event is conducted twice a year and is life changing. What a blessing to go from door to door and invite others to visit us and share the joy of knowing Christ Jesus. Many people just want to talk to you about their lives and share with you their concerns. The word "go" appears 1,514 times in the Bible. Be a Christian on the move and share a part of your life.
-
The Bread Program - Shake, Make, Bake and Take. The bread program is designed to deliver a loaf of homemade bread to our first time visitors along with a note to welcome individuals to our church. We need your help.
-
Small Groups - This is an opportunity to help others to grow in faith through a Small Group setting. Are you ready to share with others about what you believe? Igniting Ministries are asking all Methodists to open their hearts, minds and doors to what God offers. We are the people of the United Methodist Church.
-
The Emmaus Program - This event is conducted twice a year and is life changing. This program is designed to make you a better disciple within your local Church. Individuals going on this walk will experience three days of joy and peace. A chance to be touched by Christ Himself. Be a Christian on the move and take a step of faith.
-
The Alpha Program - This program is designed to deliver compelling evidence to individuals that God not only exists, but works every day to bring peace and joy to living. We need your help.
