TABERNACLE'S RENEWAL AND HOMECOMING SERVICES

Come out for a spiritual, fun, and exciting experience.

Dates: Friday, Sept. 26, Renewal Service 7:00 PM

Saturday, Sept. 27, Renewal Service 7:00 PM

Sunday, Sept. 28, Homecoming Services 8:30 AM, 9:45 AM, 11:00 AM, followed by a potluck lunch at 12 noon

Reverend Dennis Newton will be our guest speaker at all five services. Dennis grew up as a child and teenager at Tabernacle. He is the son of Leroy and Lucille Newton and the nephew of Robert, Louise, Sidney, and Diane Newton.

Special music will be provided at each service.

Friday's renewal service - Mike Wheelehan, will return and bring a joyful sound with his unforgettable contemporary style. He is well known at Tabernacle and Ni River for his musical talents and performances.

Saturday's renewal service - Donna Newton Steckler, daughter of Sidney and Diane Newton, will bring us some country gospel with her performing group "GR8FUL". Donna grew up at Tabernacle and is a former choir director.

Sunday's Homecoming services - Some special selections by our very own Tabernacle choir and contemporary musicians will be performed at the traditional and contemporary services.

Potluck Lunch - Following the 11:00 Homecoming service, we will have a wonderful time of fellowship with a potluck lunch. Please bring a dessert or side dish to share. Meat and beverage will be provided.

Mark your calendar now for Sept. 26 - 28 and join us as we sing praises to God and connect with the Holy Spirit with worship and fellowship.

Contemporary Worship Service New Time - Date Posted: 07/06/2008

The Contemporary Worship Service now starts at 9:45 a.m. The new start time coincides with Sunday School classes and allows Contemporary Worship to start and finish in time for the next worship service.

Children's Worship - Date Posted: 07/06/2008

Childrens Worship is available for children 3-6 years old during the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. services. Pastor Steve will call the children forward for a mini-lesson, and then they will continue on to room 404 (green hallway) for further worship. All children may come forward, but we ask that only those children age 3-6 continue to room 404. Activity sheets are available for those children who remain in the service. For those older youth who are interested in helping with the childrens worship, please let me know in which service you are available to help. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer your time, please contact Donna Leahy at donna_leahy@comcast.net or 374-9223.

Traditional Service Information - Date Posted: 07/06/2008

The traditional services are held in the main sanctuary at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. These services are dedicated to the praising of the Lord through conventional, "mainstream" approaches that are frequently associated with worship. Included in these services are hymns, a message in music by the Chancel Choir, Bell Choir, or one of the children's choirs, a children's time and a message given by Pastor Steve Hay. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month.

At the core of worship in our sanctuary is the use of the Bible and the United Methodist Hymnal. Scripture is read; there are several responsive readings, and a prayer followed by the Lord's Prayer. The service is accompanied by both the organ and the piano.

Nursery care with experienced adult workers is also available during all services and the Sunday School hour.
